Sorakaya (Bottle Gourd) - 1 medium size
Peanut - 1 small cup
cumin seeds
mustard seeds
green chilli - 2/3
Dried red chilli - 2/3
garlic pods - 2-3
heeng
cilantro
curry leaves
Procedure:
- Peel and Cut bottle gourd into small pieces and pressure cook it along with some salt and turmeric. Leave it for one whistle and turn it off. In a small pan, fry peanut with 1tsp of jeera and 2 slit green chillies. Grind the mixture along with 1tsp of tamarind juice and few sorakaya pieces(5-10) also use the remaining water from sorakaya to grind the mixture.
Now add the grounded mixture to the boiled sorakaya and leave it on low flame.
Tempering:
- heat 1-2tbsp oil add mustard and cumin seeds when spluttering add chopped garlic, curry leaves cilantro, turmeric and red chillis(2)
- Add this to sorakaya and mix well.
- Server hot with rice or chapati.
