Sorakaya Kura

Ingredients:

Sorakaya (Bottle Gourd) - 1 medium size
Peanut - 1 small cup
cumin seeds
mustard seeds
green chilli - 2/3
Dried red chilli - 2/3
garlic pods - 2-3
heeng
cilantro
curry leaves

Procedure:

  • Peel and Cut bottle gourd into small pieces and pressure cook it along with some salt and turmeric. Leave it for one whistle and turn it off. In a small pan, fry peanut with 1tsp of jeera and 2 slit green chillies. Grind the mixture along with 1tsp of tamarind juice and few sorakaya pieces(5-10) also use the remaining water from sorakaya to grind the mixture.
    Now add the grounded mixture to the boiled sorakaya and leave it on low flame.

Tempering:

  • heat 1-2tbsp oil add mustard and cumin seeds when spluttering add chopped garlic, curry leaves cilantro, turmeric and red chillis(2)
  • Add this to sorakaya and mix well.
  • Server hot with rice or chapati.

Chicken pacchadi (pickle)

Hi I tried preparing chicken pacchadi at home for the very first time. This was made for a very spl friend of mine. And thank god it came out good.

I am sharing the recipe with u

Ingredients:

Chicken - 1lb
shredded coconut
salt
turmeric
red chili powder
vinegar
Ginger Garlic paste
Lemon juice

Method:

Cut chicken into small cubes and boil the chicken in water and add vinegar to the water.
Then marinate chicken with turmeric and salt and leave this for an hour in the refrigerator. Now deep fry chicken in some oil make sure it does not become too hard.
In the same oil add salt, chili powder, ginger garlic paste and fried coconut powder.
Then mix this to chicken and add 1/2 cup lemon juice.
Store it and enjoy.
